ANTIQUE HULL LITTLE RED RIDING HOOD COOKIE JAR This is an authentic Hull Cookie Jar from the 40's with markings on the bottom "Little Red Riding Hood Pat. Des. No. 135889 USA" imbedded in the ceramic. She measures 13 1/4" high. The colors are rich and vibrant with a poppy design on her dress and gold accents at her neck. She is beautifully painted and her expression is so lovely, with round blush spots of color on her cheeks and long lashes. Red has a slight crack along the back of the cape, so faint that I didn't notice it until I washed the jar. It is nearly invisible from the front of the jar. Inside t is some damage which can be seen in the photos, with the jar opened, and only then. Besides those 2 things the rest is in very good shape. Although these cracks are enough to give a serious collector reason to pause, this piece has so much charm that I believe any true lover of Hull pottery will give this jar a really close look. I've tried to make the photos as clear as possible so a close scrutiny is allowed. The repair was made with expertise and is barely noticeable. The bottom half is in mint condition.
