A newspaper clipping found in the trunk dates it to at least 1899. Wood hump back doll trunk with metal trim pieces and vanity tray/shelf. Star motif on lid and small picture of kids playing on the inside of the lid. There is also 18 pieces of antique clothing included with the trunk. Trunk is not perfect but still solid. There is loose leather trim and some of this trim missing off the side and front of the trunk. Tears to the paper overlay on the edges of the top and sides and especially on one side, there is a lot missing. Lock is missing half and leather handles are gone. Inside is not bad. Measures 10 5/8" tall at the top of the hump, 9 1/2" wide, 16" long.Clothes are in need of tlc, but overall good antique condition. All of the cotton undergarments need cleaning and some have stains (see picture) but NO holes in any. The lace trim is very nice.The brocade dress has about 5-6 holes in it, no stains.Pink dress has no holes but 4 stains on back.Stripped blouse is nice with no stains or holes. Blue and black shirt has no holes or stains, but was never hemmed at the bottom.Black and red skirt is nice with no stains or holes.Long white gown has 3-4 holes in it and lots of age discoloration.Velvet coat has staining and discoloration.Blue dress with lace overlay is good but lace is very frayed.Orange jacket/blouse with fur trim is read more
