Up for Auction is A Wonderful Early Georgia Southern Hand Made Huntboard Sideboard. This is one of the Best Pieces I have offered for sale! Made in NW Georgia in the Rome area is was made by a Skilled Craftsman and dates from around 1860 and is truly a piece History! A Beautiful piece it has the Best Old finish and Character that only would come from a piece of this age!! I do not know all of the wood types it is made from but the primary case is what I believe to be Chestnut due to the grain. The doors could be Cherry or maybe Birch. The secondary I believe is pine but the interrior was painted (old) so it is hard to tell. The drawers are lap joined and nailed and the legs are turned and are full through and pegged as is the entire case. There is some seperation from shrinkage and age cracks. The top is three boards with a tapered joint. The finish on the exterior is an old varnish that has darkened to a Wonderful Patina. The scroll work on the front has a piece missing on the left side but it has been long gone and does not detract from the piece at all. This piece was County made by the loving hand of a True Craftsman for use in his Home. The piece measures 4 feet 8 inches long, 19 1/2 inches deep and 36 1/2 inches tall. Just look at the pictures!! Please ask questions and feel free to request more pictures. I will Email you extras as requested. I assure you you will not be Unhappy with this AWESOME piece!!I am listing this with a small reserve and I am more than willing to deliver it within a certan range (+ - 200 MI ) for a small fee.
