This is a an antique carved bone Native American artifact. I have done some research and this is sometimes called Eskimo Sunglasses. These were used by the Inuit people to protect eyes from the sun when hunting on the ice. These will fit an adult face. They actually seem to work well. You can still see very well when held up to your face. They are about 6 1/2 inches wide by 3 inches tall. Reminds me of a mask. I have taken many close ups for your consideration. If any one has additional information please let me know and I will include it. This comes from the estate of a life long Native American collector, 1 block from Lake Superior in Northern Wisconsin. This was a very strange, and eclectic collection that included items from many U.S. tribes including Alaska, and some items from Canada as well. Buyer pays 7.00 shipping in U.S. and 15.00 world wide shipping. Please check my other auctions for more items from the same estate.
