This listing is for an Antique Indo Persian Islamic Middle East Inlaid Forged Steel Dagger Sword KnifeI will state up front I am not an expert on middle eastern weapons or blades. Please view my pictures for your own evaluation. From what I can tell it is very old and I have not seen any others like it. As far as the quality of the blade, and the carving on the handle it is just amazing. It is inlayed with what maybe coin silver of bronze, not sure. The blade is blacksmith forged as you can see the different layers of steel hammered into it. The handle is either horn or wood, not sure. Beautiful pierced detailed carving of horned faces and scrolls with knobs near the base. Silver band incases the hilt where it meets the blade. Age is unknown, but at least 18th or 19th century. Total length is 20 7/8 inches, length of the blade measured from where it enters the handle is 13 3/4 inches, the widest point on the blade is 2 inches measured in the center, thickest part of the blade is 1/4 inch. Length of the handle is 7 1/8 inches. Weight is 1 pound 3 ounces or 512 grams. No scabbard. Blade is still straight and razor sharp. I can provide more pictures upon request.
