BEAUTIFUL ANTIQUE INLAID WALNUT FRAME - Looks like European walnut background with burl walnut on top. Beautiful inlay with Satinwood or Yew Wood - birds and urns with fruit - - Frame is circa 1860 - 1880's, or maybe even earlier.
About 7 inches tall by 5 inches wide. INFORMATION: Think it is European - maybe Italian - looks like some of the inlaid Italian tables I have seen. Looks as though it was hand made - look at the photo of the back opening - the groove w the glass goes looks irregular as though it was hand carved out. Slight warp to the frame - not really visible from the front, but if you look at the pictures from the side you can see the slight warp. Looks like a few tiny old repairs on the sides - not visible from the front . Outer dimensions -6 ¾ inches tall and 5 ¼ inches wide. Thickness is about 1/4 inch. Opening size is 4 ¼ inches long by 2-½ inches wide. Has wood easel on back attached with a loose brass hinge. Has glass and a cardboard backing. Really a one-of-a-kind piece - you won't see another frame like this! ALL SALES FINAL. I am selling items that are close to a hundred years old. Naturally t will be irregularities and flaws just because of the age. I will describe an item as best I can, and will try to picture any irregularities or missing parts, but ASK QUESTIONS BEFORE YOU BID!
