Antique Iron and Brass Bed Approx 1900 Double size. Cast iron has a black finish. Old brass decorative pieces all can be removed to be polished. Held in place by decorative brass beads, which screw on to bed frame holding larger pieces in place. Brass is in excellent condition no dents. Rails have cone shaped ends which drop into cone shape on foot and headboard. Bed is all original. It measures 75" long x 54" wide. Headboard is 57" high, foot is 45-1/2" high. Frame that holds the mattress is 12-1/2" from the floor. This is a lovely bed, wonderful shape. Lots of curves. Wrought iron has a delicate feel. Does not overpower a room as many brass beds do.
