This is an antique Crown (Manufactured by American Machine Company) Cloth Crimper. I do not know much about antiques but I believe that this item was used to crimp collars, hems and other portions of garments when this was in fashion. Top of base reads - CROWN - PAT. NOV. 2. 1875 - Underside of base reads - AMERICAN MACHINE CO. - PHILADELPHIA, PA. T are two areas that I have noticed damage. T is a portion of the top handle that has broken off and t is a piece that holds the bottom roller steady that has broken off. The rollers do rotate and appear to function properly. T may be other issues but this is what I have observed. This item is sold as is so please examine pictures carefully and feel free to ask questions.
