Up for sale is an antique iron hog scraper signed "SHAW". � The push-up part does work- but it does not stay in position. � The movement is otherwise smooth. � We believe this piece had a chair hook, as the top shows evidence of breakage- please see pictures. � The surface has a nice patina. � The nut never appears to have been off, and it is hand cut. � The hog scraper measures 5 1/2'' tall. � There is a dent on the side, as seen in pictures. � Shaw candlesticks came out of Birmingham, England and a large number were imported into the United States in the period. � Please� check out the pictures, message us with any questions, and check out our other listings for more fine antiques!
