This is an iron tsuba of "kiku" design (kiku represents the chrysanthemum, a flower associated with nobility and royalty, also symbolizing longevity) for wakizashi or katana, dating to the late muromachi or early edo period late 1500's to early 1600's. Done in yo sukashi with kebori surface, contributing to its attribution to the Saotome school. Overall it is in absolutely excellent condition, and all of the brilliant detail and craftsmanship is immediately evident. This tsuba is 100% guaranteed to be authentic as described. FREE SHIPPING to the continental U.S. All others, please inquire. Thank you. I'll soon update this post with exact measurements, as I don't have them with me at the moment. As a guess, its about 3" x 3".
