As we continue traveling in Italy searching for special treasures to bring to you on Ebay, we are always looking for one of our favorite treasures - the Italian Hand Painted Ex-Voto. We view them as one of the most beautiful and fascinating of the Italian Religious Art Forms. As we travel and collect these painted ex-votos we are always captivated by the different artistic styles which originate from the different regions of Italy. This week we are very pleased to present four distinctive Painted Ex-votos for you. Please check our other Auctions. IN THIS AUCTION we are pleased to offer a small jewel-like painting on metal. Vivid colors and symbols of the Church make this painting a thing of beauty and mystery. An apparition of Saint Anne holding the Blessed Virgin Mary appear in the right corner of the painting. A golden halo surrounds Saint Anne's head as a series of stars circles the head of the infant Mary. Kneeling before them is a Roman Soldier and Martyr. His vibrant Red Cloak is in stark contrast to his green tunic and sandaled feet. In his left hand he holds a palm - the ancient Christian symbol of Martyrdom. Above this Martyr's head is the symbol of the Holy Spirit. Taken as a whole, this 6 ½ inches (17 cm) high by 5 ¼ inches (13.5 cm) wide painting imparts a double dose of stunning artistry and glorious spirituality. This read more
