Greetings! You are viewing a beautiful example of a 1900-1940's Real Ivory Chess Set. It is really nice condition except for a few age-related items, for example - the stretch has gone out of the elastic that holds the pieces in place and the case has some ware due to normal transportation. The grain on these real ivory pieces can be seen on both the natural ccolored ivory pieces (Whites) and on the tea stained brown pieces (Blacks). T is intricate carving on all pieces. The Kings are 4" tall, the Queens are 3.5"tall. Each pawn is unique. The closed box measures 18" x 9" x 3.5". Satin lined and padded at support each piece. In the pictures the 16 pawns (8 each color) are shown to show you the detail differences. Nice detailing on the imprinted clasp. I purchased the item about 17 years and it has been kept in the same condition since then. Feel free to send me any questions. I feel you will be delighted with this lovely set. Happy bidding! Two of the pieces shaped like horsemen have had one of their arms broken off somew in their distant past. One of the rivets that holds the elastic has been pressed through the lining.... it could probably could be repaired easily but I didn't want to affect its authenticity so I didn't do it. Sorry these details didn't get in on the initial description. (Also, please pardon all the typos in the first section- forgot to proof read and to shows!) Thanks again I will gladly ship to the lower 48 US states but I can not ship anyw else. Thank you. Greetings! You are viewing a beautiful example of a 1900-1940's Real Ivory Chess Set.
