EMPEROR & EMPRESS Antique Chinese Ivory Figures $1 No Reserve! You are bidding on a superb pair of Old Estate Ivory Chinese Figurines in the forms of an Emperor and Empress seated on Dragon and Phoenix Thrones with Rising Sun. Each piece is fully signed by their master artist. These important antique pieces show stunning detail and an absolute master hand. The figures were purchased at a multimillion dollar decorative arts and antique gallery auction (The Mebane Historic Americana Sale in November 2006). Only the finest of items were offered at this important sale. I was fortunate enough to buy most of the fine Ivory items from an important Victorian Era Collection offered during the marathon auction. I do not know the exact age of these pieces but based on the other items in the collection and the patina of the ivory, I believe them to be late 1800's to early 1900's. I do not read Chinese and the signatures may give exact age, it is possible they are much earlier. This pair of figures is very similar to the pair I sold last month and came out of the same Victorian Era Collection. The buyer of the earlier pair was delighted (see feedback). I am listing all the remaining Ivory I have from this Old Southern Collection. Please see all my Ivory pieces on Ebay Now! I am starting all the pieces at $1 No Reserve and will be glad to combine shipping. The figures stand about 5 1/2" tall and measure about 2 3/8" across the base. I have inspected the statues very closely and have found only one very tiny snag on the Empress' pinky finger (see photo). I doubt very seriously you would have ever seen this, if I had not mentioned it. I want to be as honest with the discriptions as possible. The pieces have a very desireable antique patina/staining, naturally found as Ivory ages. T are also some age lines as you would want to see as evidence of antique Ivory. I realize these pieces are extremely valuable, but I trust my bidders to settle on a fair price. Thus...$1 with absolutely NO RESERVE! GOOD LUCK!
