This is a nice antique 1900 Japanese military Boxer Rebellion War medal. Japan played a substantial role in the put down of the Boxers by sending the imperial navy and the army's 5th Division along with the Allied Relief Expedition. This medal was established by Imperial Edict No. 142 of April 21, 1901. The medal is full size, the same as the average Japanese war medal (see pictures I included of officers wearing the same medal). The medal is in overall very good condition. The ribbon is structurally good, a little wear and fading only. The medal bar reads KIYOKUNI JIHEN (Chinese Empire Incident). The front of the medal reads JUUGUN KISHO (Military Service Medal). The reverse reads DAI NIPPON TEIKOKU (Greater Imperial Japan) and MEIJI 33 NEN (The Year 1900). See the pictures, it's a nice medal. Thank you very much for the interest.
