This is a rare Japanese book of lithograph prints, titled SENEKI GA CHOU OKUNI NO HOMARE (Battle Art Collection, The Pride of the Nation). This book was published in 1936. The paintings depict famous military battles, events and historical figures from the Boshin War, First Sino-Japanese War, Boxer Rebellion, Russo-Japanese War, Siberian Intervention and Manchurian Incident. There's a total of 60 prints. I regret that I couldn't show them all (they are magnificent!), but you should get a good idea of what's in the book by the photos I have provided. You will be more impressed by the actual book, I promise. Battle scenes included are Japanese vs. Japanese, Japanese vs. Chinese, Japanese vs. Russians and Japanese vs. Germans. If you're interested in epic battles of the Japanese military then you'll love this book, thumbing through each page of vibrant, breathtaking pieces of war history. All the lithographs in this book are suitable for framing, and each litho is printed on its own page, so you could actually frame 60 separate prints from this one book. Each print has detailed information regarding the scene depicted too. I have inspected all 60 prints and they are in beautiful condition, no stains or tears. The cover (very bottom part only) of the book has slight fade only. You cannot find this book in better condition, it's the nicest one I have ever seen. The original slipcover is included too. The book measures approx. 14 inches x 7.5 inches x 5/8 inch. It weighs 717 grams. The book will have a shipping weight of about 1.25 kilos, so please understand the shipping is a little high, but still under actual shipping costs. Thank you and good luck bidding.
