ITEM: This is another very nice antique Meiji era (this is an early plate, for certain Meiji era) inban plate. Listing several today, all from the same family. These inban plates are considered the workhorses of Japanese ceramics. These were meant to be used and they were made tough. Dropping one on the ground will not always result in a break. This is another odd shaped plate. It's a beauty. The center has a kiri (paulownia leaf) and flowers on the edge. This measures 6.75 inches from side to side. The condition is excellent. This comes from the kura (storehouse) of an old samurai family named Kusaka that are located in Miyagi Prefecture. We are in the process of liquidating their storehouses (they have 2) which many items date from the time the family were still samurai to WWII, when the head of the household served in the Imperial Japanese Army as a Military Police officer (kempeitai). It's safe to say most items we are listing date from Edo era to WWII. All items I list are guaranteed 100% to be as stated. This is a rare chance to own items from an old samurai family (that come from the family directly). Please see our other auctions. Many collectors, antique shops, movie prop houses and auction-related companies from all over the world source us for unique Japanese antiques. Winning bidders from Italy, Germany, Africa, eastern Europe, south America and Asia must pay extra for EMS delivery. Thank you and good luck bidding. Win multiple items and save on shipping If you have less than 10 feedbacks you will need to fax a copy of your drivers license or passport BEFORE BIDDING. Shipping will be $13.90 by REGISTERED air delivery. We are in Japan. Pay by Paypal or U.S. Postal International Money Orders. Please pay within 7 days from the end of the auction.
