Lovely very old and heavy Japanese metal Trinket box from the Edo Period (1603-1868) The box has 5 different images to top and all 4 sides and is in fair condition with age related rub etc. It appears to have been hinged at one time, however the hinges have been cleanly removed so it becomes a loose lidded box. It has a few chips and knocks- as one would expect- but nothing substantial (see photos) The dimensions of the box is approx 1 00mm x 30mm From my own collections . I live in a tiny 200 year old cottage in an ancient Penine village- and I'm a total-magpie.... treasure hunting is my hobby! I'm reluctantly having to reduce my collection a bit- so I'm having a Christmas clearout... to make room for some more of course :-) Please check out my other listings... and unless I move to a bigger house there'll be more coming on over the next few weeks.... !
