You are bidding on a beautiful Hand Painted China vase made in Japan. It is in excellent condition. It is 10 inches tall. Especially exquisite are the delicate gold paint traces around each leaf and petal, the gold paint on the 2 pheasants and the light touch used to show the gentle flowing stream. The background is a beautiful and delicate cream color, not a plain white color. All the colors have a natural earth tone showing a harmony and balance that is sought after by good Japanese artists. The top and bottom paint show some crazing (crackling) that comes with natural aging. The cream colored background also shows traces of crackling that come with aging. Look at the magnified close-up pictures to see. By Antique I do not mean Ancient but the piece was made in the early to mid 20th century and thus is well over 50 years old.
