Selling is a wonderful antique Japanese ivory netsuke. The netsuke features a warrior posed for battle with a pillar at his back. The warrior is holding a sword and and has highly detailed clothes. On his shoulder is a small helper holding a flute and a fan. On one side of the pillar is some Japanese characters, perhaps explaining the scene or a fable that it depicts. The netsuke is also signed near the holes at the bottom of the pillar. This is a beautifully carved netsuke and would make a great gift or addition to your home or collection.
