Here is a beautiful Netsuke made from a sea shell, It is 3" long, I got this from an estate with a bunch of other antique Japanese items, The original owner simply punched a hole in the shell and put a cord through it, there was a leather tobacco bag on it when I got it but it had seen better days, I think it is from the mid to late Edo Period as all the other items we're, I will be listing some of the other items from the estate in the next few weeks, This is a very nice piece and was for sure loved by someone for many many years and was kept in excellent condition.
