Here is what we believe to be a genuine old signed Japanese Samurai Sword. I can attest to the fact that I viewed it as a young boy hanging on a wall in 1954 and was told it was brought back to the US by a WWII soldier. The sword has what we think are very ornate decorations/trim and looks to be very well made. It has normal usage/aging wear and a few 'question' marks, as follows: Blade is in good shape, measures about 27" from tip to hilt but it is a bronze color; don't know why?; also, the 'collar' that fits on the hilt end of the scabbard appears to be missing; finally 'peg' that holds the handle to the blade is wooden?? Total length of sword in scabbard is about 38". Handle is simply magnificent (see pictures) and with no problems. We removed the handle and viewed the Japanese Markings (see pictures) which we cannot read, so the sword is "signed"! Scabbard is well made from leather and in good condition. (Please view our many pictures!!) A super item to proudly own/display! NOTE: We welcome any & all questions/comments! NO RESERVE! Low/Reasonable Minimum. USA shipping varies by buyer location. No International shipping, sorry. Thanks for looking & good bidding. We checked the blade with a magnet and although it is bronze/gold in color it is NOT BRONZE. Don't now anything else about the coloration. Thanks again for your interest!
