ITEM: This is a very nice antique (Meiji-Taisho-Showa era) marugata tsuba I am offering today. This is made of iron and has multiple cranes and ocean waves along the rim. It's been fitted to a sword at one time, but I doubt for long, the condition is so nice. When I picked this up years back I remeber thinking it must be a cast made piece, but it was so nice I had to have it. On close inspection t was no marks fom it being cast on any edges. If it is, it's an amazing piece of work. Either way I figure it was a Meiji to Showa era trade piece of very high quality. See the pictures, it's a ral beauty. This includes a very nice modern wood case to keep it stored in. The tsuba measures 79.5 mm from top to bottom and 3.25 mm thick in the center and up to 7.5 mm thick on some of the edge parts. The nakago-ana measures 25.5 mm. It has the kozukahitsu-ana and kogaihitsu-ana. This comes from my personal collection that I am now selling. If you have an opnion on this tsuba, I'd love to hear it. I may be selling my collection, but I never want to stop learning about them. See my other auctions for more rare Japanese sword related items. If you collect, then you have found the right place. Many collectors, antique shops and auction related companies from all over the world source me for unique items. Winning bidders from Italy, Germany, Africa,
