ITEM: This is a very nice early 20th century Japanese daisho set. This could be Meiji era to the 1930s. You can see by the menuki in the daito that it is similar to what you find in gunto. See the writing on the lid, it reads from right to left, pre-WWII style. The set was probably displayed on "Boy's Day." The tachi is 10.5 inches in length and the wakizashi is 5.75 inches in length. This is a great set, the blades are made of real metal, the scabbards are real lacquered wood. The stand is also lacquered wood. The set is in excellent condition, please see the pictures. This came from my own collection and I guarantee 100% its authenticity. Your guests/friends want to play with the swords, please do not let them since they in fact are made of metal and could injur someone easily. The storage box measures about 10.75 inches x 5.75 inches x 3 inches. The set is very detailed, the winner will be very pleased. The writing on the lid reads OGAZARITACHI (Decoration Sword), t is also a patent number and artist name stamps.
