`` The Twenty-Four Generals `` were just one of many historically famous groupings of battle commanders from Japan's Sengoku Period. These Twenty-Four were the most trusted commanders of the armies of Takeda Shingen. A third of them died at the famous Battle of Nagashino in 1575 when they led the Takeda forces against Oda Nobunaga. : Akiyama Nobutomo - involved in invasion of Shinano Province : : Amari Torayasu - d. Battle of Uedahara 1548 : : Anayama Nobukimi - following Mikata ga Hara and Nagashino, allied with Tokugawa Ieyasu and aided in defeat of Takeda Katsuyori : : Baba Nobuharu - fought at Mikata ga Hara and commanded vanguard of the right wing of Takeda army at Nagashino, w he died : : Hara Masatane - d. Battle of Nagashino 1575 : : Ichij? Nobutatsu - younger brother to Shingen, fought at Nagashino : : Itagaki Nobutaka - d. Battle of Uedahara 1548 : : K?saka Danj? Siege of Toishi 1550 : Kakejiku is Signed & Sealed by the Listed artist from the Azuchi - Momoyama Period 1573-1600, `` KAIHO YUSHO `` . This very rare & Spectacular and most desirable antique Japanese painting, or Kakejiku, depicts, aurguably one of, if not the greatest general in Samurai warfare History , `` Takeda Shingen `` . Along with his Twenty four Trusted Generals : Each & every detail of Takeda Shingen & all his generalls is True & correct to life & every detail of each of their Yoroi is correct in design and colours depicted in this Silk painting . Condition as can be seen is Museum Quality, Nishiki or silk-Brocade Mountings are Highest Quality Edo Period and is in excellent condition . Original Signed Tomobako or Kirri Wood storage Box is included in the sale . Kakejiku Width is 72cm : Lenght 2+ Meters .The two Large Rollers are antique 150 + years old elephant Zouge : Painting is about 430 Years Old from the Tensho Era (1573-1592) & is in Excellent Original Condition, colors are Crisp & Bright and show little to no exposure to uv light or other : Due to the vast amount of detail in this painting re the costume of each Generall, when cross referenced to specific publications that contain details about these Generals that were killed at the Battle of Nagashino in 1575 , the types of yoroi worn match this paintings details perfectly. This would confirm that the painting was done about the time of that battle, or just prior. Similar genuine examples of Samurai Byobu, ( Set of Generally six panel Folding Japanese Screens ), from this Era in such fine original * Unrestored condition, U.S.A$75,000 & upwards over U.S.A$100K is not uncommon for such paintings that come with their original signed Tomobako.
