ANTIQUE SCROLL PAINTED ON SILK MEIJI PERIOD (probably or early) These SILK SCROLL belonged to the Bing Brothers collection. ( Augustus & Sigfried) who lived in Japan in the XIX Century, and were dedicated to art and its trade. From these two brothers one lived in Japan and the other one, in France and Germany .They opened an art gallery in Paris called "Art Nouveau" from wich this movement took its name. (look at the book "Les origines de L´art nouveau" "La maison Bing" support of the exhibition at the VanGogh Museum also in " La Caixa" and at the Museé des Arts décoratifs in Paris, France) I bought several pieces from Augustus Bing´s grandson. Luckily, we have in our hands, some books recopilated by one of the brothers and also the trade collection catalogs (see photos). The fortunate buyer will count with all the information needed. And also, a notarial authenticity certificate,telling w it cames from. See photos of an "akemono" of A.Bing and part of his luggage .(photos only in exibition) This japanese silk scroll, was painted on silk . We don´t want to be ctic and describe something beyond our knowledge. We will only describe the condition.
