Antique Japanese 1880's silk tapestry weave Maru (full pattern) obi. This beautiful obi is a richly woven silk satin intricately detailed leaf and flower pattern on a shimmering old golden olive taupe background. This obi has clusters of medium sized overlapping leaf trios with vaious geometric and floral patterns on each leaf. T are little mum clusters in silver and light gold, lilies in light gold, and pines boughs in light gold and forest green which are all floating in finely woven gold clouds sprinkled throughout the background. The leaf patterns done in light gold, silvery green, forest green and dark brown. This is a very easy one to decorate with. The work on this obi is exquisite.. This obi is in MINT condition. It measures 13 & 3/4 feet long and 12 &1/2 inches wide. This is an unusually long maru obi by about 2 feet. The authentic Japanese silk obi make dramatic wall hangings, wonderful table runners, pillows, purses, or if you like, cut them for formal placemats, as they are thickly lined. Don't miss this beauty!
