The Clock strikes the Westminster chime on the quarter hour with a full hour count on the hour on 8 long steel Chime rods with a very pleasant sounding chime. Wood and Brass Pendulum Bob is 4 1/2" in diameter. Hinged door operates smoothly. Door is finely crafted with all mortise and tendon joints, very sturdy. Four full turned spindle columns flank the each side of the door with applied wood carvings surrounding the dial bezel and convex glass. This antique French piece of history runs strong and currently keeps good time. The entire solid and veneer walnut case is in very nice condition, no repairs and no damage with the exception of a 4 small wood blisters in the veneer finish. Two at the top of the cathredral beveled glass and two near the numbers 2 and 3. All are very minor (1/4"- 1/2" max). Old winding key is included.
