This beautiful handpainted vase measures 9-1/2" high and approx. 10" wide. It has a bisque-feeling finish on the body and a high-gloss finish on the inside of the handles and interior of the vase. The paintings' colors are muted and are different on each side, t being three butterflies on one side, along with the flowers. I think the whole vase was high gloss after firing and then the artist painted a textured background to more suit his muted flowers. I have washed this vase, so I don't think the background is dirty. According to my research, the mark J.P./L (Jean Pouyat, potter) was used from 1842 to 1898 (Kovel Dictionary of Marks). This vase is heavy. CONDITION: I could not find any chips, cracks, repairs, or crazing. The inside is super clean, so I don't think it had any water in it. The gold trim is mostly complete but has rubbed off in small places, such as near the bottom rim. T is some brown paint(?) on the inside bottom rim which partly came off with my fingernail, but I will leave the rest to you. I didn't want to try any liquid solutions. Let me know if you need more pictures. PLEASE READ : Please ask questions before bidding. Winning bidder to pay shipping (see calculator). I ship to the UNITED STATES ONLY to a confirmed address . Sorry, no exceptions at this time. I charge only $1 for handling/packaging materials. Insurance
