Antique Jennings Bros Native American Indian Bookends Description Antique 1920 Era Jennings Bros Native American Indian Bookends. Massive hollow cast bronzed finish on spelter metal often referred to as "French Bronze". I believe these depict a bust of Geronimo with extremely fine detail in the casting. Not marked but I absolutely guarantee there were made by Jennings Brothers of Connecticut - the bronze metal is quite similar to many of their other bookends such as Lincoln in the Chair Memorial. They would have had a foil label on the bottom that is now worn off. Each measures 5 1/2" tall, 7" wide and 3 1/2" deep. No cracks or chips, fine clean solid very fine condition - check my photos. These come from a local estate filled with only the finest artwork and antiques, in the same family for generations. In the 1920s, Jennings Brothers added a line of high-quality bookends to their manufacturing operations and produced some of the most finely crafted art metal pieces throughout the 1920s and 1930s.
