ANTIQUE AMETHYST JEWELED ORMOLU VANITY SET ~ NO RESERVE ~ Offered for your consideration a luxurious, lavishly embellished jeweled antique vanity set from the early 1900s. This set features ormolu gilding, intricate filigree, and stunning Czech rose cut amethyst bezel set stones. The stones are exquisite and dazzle brilliantly when the light hits them emitting a rainbow of glorious sparkling colors. All of the stones are present with none missing. The mirror is 15 3/8" long with some loss of silvering. The brush is 10 1/2" long, and has natural bristles set in wood in good condition. Both pieces have age related gilt wear to the handles, the mirror more so than the brush. Overall, this heavy, fine quality set is in exceptional condition for it's age as the photos show. My research has shown this set was made by E & J Bass Inc of NY, Empire Art Gold that made high quality vanity items 1890's to 1930.
