For your consideration is this lovely antique paisley shawl. I purchased several of these textiles from an estate of a Washington D.C. dignitary. As you can see by my description, I don't know very much about this kind of textile. It appears to be hand sewn, and hand pieced as well. T is some thinning of the solid red fabric, and many holes in the center portion. T are some holes and tears along the outer edge as well. The shawl measures 62" square, and the center medallion measures 9" round. The most accurate photo of the color is the last photo, a close up of the back. The background color is a deep wine/red. T is a ribbon sewn along the edge of the back. I took some of it off and the last photo is of the edge as it appears under the ribbon. Please free to forward any questions or concerns.
