Let us tell you about KATHLEEN CAID..... (taken from one of her advertisement brochures) Welcome to the world of Antique Artistry. All of the items you see are one-of-a-kind creations. Kathleen Caid has been making these unique works of luminary art for over twenty years. Armed with a Fine Arts degree, a love of old things and an extremely creative imagination, Kathleen has developed an extraordinary artform that combines functionality, whimsy and style. Utilizing authentic antique lamp bases, chandeliers and sconces, Kathleen matches their artistry and styling with personally designed shades made from appropriate vintage fabrics. She then applies the finishing touches of metallic trim and luxurious hand-beaded fringes. The results are spectacular pieces of functional art which have been featured in Architectural Digest and A & E's House Beautiful Magazine. Collectors include: Cher, Melanie Griffith and Antonio Banderas, John Travolta, Madonna, Laura Flynn Boyle & Pamela Anderson. Her work can be found in fine home furnishing stores throughout the United States and at various trade shows including the High Point, San Francisco Furniture Markets & the New York Gift Show. Check out her website: Now let us tell you about this particular lamp and how we acquired it. This lamp came from the estate of a department store window designer. During his lifetime not only did he do some magnificent designs that brought the potential customers in to purchase the goods from that store, but he also had impeccable taste and a strong desire for antiques. We have never been to an estate with so many wonderful, valuable and incredible antiques. This is w this lamp came from. This stunning lamp is a GORGEOUS table lamp.The shade is the most amazing silk beaded shade! The lamp itself is a hard metal likely bronze. It has what appears to be 3 goddesses or muses and they are holding a cranberry colored shade, which is internally under the silk shade. When we purchased this lamp, even the most dignified of estate sale antique dealers were disappointed that they didn't get to it first. This truly is one of the most stunning lamps that we have ever layed our eyes on! Approximate height is 35". An absolutely stunning work of art!! The L.C. Tiffany of today!! Having looked at her past pricing, this lamp would have sold in the $8,000-$10,000 range. Our buy it now price is EXTREMELY FAIR! Get this prized possession before someone beats you to it! It is glass and made in France. I have included the pictures in as an addition to the auction. Also, I spoke directly with Kathleen about these lamps in particular and she remembers them well. She told me that she made these custom for the gentleman who's estate I purchased them from. They truly are one of a kinds as he brought her components that he loved and cherished and she worked with that when she created them. I hate to say, but my pictures do they lamps ZERO justice!!
