Exactly like the typewriter featured on the Discovery Channel's Auction Kings!! Unfortunately I do not have the letter wheel face for it but this piece is still very valuable to a collector A fully operational one with the case goes for about $2,000 Im not sure of the model number but I know this piece was made between 1880-1904. great for a collector or a cheap restoration project This item is being sold "AS IS" The Lambert is an index typewriter that was invented in the early 1880s in New York by Frank Lambert, a French immigrant. Index typewriters don’t have keyboards. Generally, one hand operates a pointer that selects a letter from an index while the other hand depresses a lever that moves the type to the paper. The first practical index typewriters were introduced in the early 1880s, several years after the first keyboard typewriter. Index typewriters were much cheaper than keyboard typewriters during the 1880s and 1890s. In fact, index typewriters generally sold for $10-$20 while full keyboard typewriters sold for between $60-$100. That was about a ½ of year’s salary for the typical clerk. read more
