A TRUE antique.....stamped on the back of this "sculpture" that is an Electric LAMP, is , "GERMANY", (see close-up PHOTO). Weighing FOUR (4) POUNDS......an electric Lamp.....ALL metal.......of a bare breasted woman holding a rug, under a tapestry "roof" SHADE, as in an Egyptian market......this is very neat, a real beauty! We say EGYPTIAN due to the woman has a head-band on, with a SNAKE head in the center of it....she looks just like what a Hollywood Silent movie actress playing say Cleopatra, looked like, this is going to be from the ......1910's or 1920's. A magnet will not stick/attact to ANY part of this, so it could be a BRONZE. To cover ourselves, the only other metal that a magnet does not attact to, is copper or brass. This is 9+5/8" tall.......5" wide......4" deep. ALL of the patina and handpainted color has not been messed with, all ORIGINAL patina. Wonderful condition, with the colors vivid and bright, and aged perfectly. This is MORE then painted on, it is like a cold-painted Bronze, the colors are deep into the metal, you could not rub off by hand, etc. The roof of the booth she is in is meant to look like a "tapestry", this tapestry serves as the Lamp SHADE, it is very detailed including having a very natural "drape" to the material in the front. The bare-breasted woman is kneeling on what are meant to be bricks, read more
