Up for auction is this large rare antique Black Forest Germany cuckoo clock. It appears to be carved in walnut. This is an early one dating to the late 1800's. It has incredible hand carved details throughout. The fox and the bird on top are especially nice. The fox is about 8" long from tip to tip. The bird is about 6". There are several grape clusters throughout. The clock keeps good time. It doesn't look like the bird is hooked up to the wire which pushes it out. The bellow whistle when pushed down. The carving does have some minor damage on a few leaf tips but overall in good original condition. The crest was glued back together at one time but looks good still. The clock looks to be complete. This clock is large measuring 24" high and is about 17" wide. Evidently the fox in the vineyard clock is hard to come by in this original old condition. The pendulum is a nice large carved leaf. The clock is very dusty and will need a good cleaning. Also included are the two large iron pinecone weights. Please e-mail with questions and I will try and answer them for you.
