We offer a Black forest Cuckoo Clock 1880, Museum Piece!! We offer a very rare cuckoo clock of the black forest, its made in traditional 'Bahnhäusle' Style with a deer-head on top and two hunted animals besides the dial, a gun and powder bag and ornaments in handcarved Walnut, the wood is not occupied by the death-watch beetle. Very fine detailed carvings in masterly performence. The clock is in excellent best condition.The wonderful masterly carvings are completely made of massive walnut tree. Also the dial is made of walnut tree. Nothing is missing or broken, except for a small repair on the antlers of the deer. The two hunted animals on the right and left side of the dial and the deer-head on the top are true masterworks. All the ornaments are also carved from the same wood. The original cuckoo cries at the half and full hour, he has a moving snout. The pipes are original and have a wonderful sound. You hear every half hour the stroke on the spiral gong. On the right and the left side are little doors for looking into the movement, also on the backsite. The Original Blackforest Cuckoo Clock from app. 1880 was built by Gordian Hettich & Sons at Furtwangen/Blackforest. 0ne-day Movement : The clock lasts 24 Hours, before you hav to pull the weights up again. The cuckoo of this clock calls the time on the full hour and once on the half-hour. Height: 67 cm = 26" : Width 38 cm : Depth 33 cm The height of a clock is measured from the very top of the antlers to the bottom of the clock. The weights and the pendulum do NOT count when measuring the height. Hands and dial Hands and the numbers on the faces are made of bone.This clock is in its Original State and perfectly running.
