A profusely decorated late 1700's wrought iron twisted candle spike. This was recently purchased from a large collection of early American wrought iron in Connecticut. The spike, which would be hammered into a wooden beam, is nicely twisted. T are a few small holes in the bottom of the piece (pictured), not sure what these made for, or how this piece was used. The entire candle spike is highly decorated with amazing early ironwork, obviously made by a very talented blacksmith. It measures 7 1/2" long, 6" tall and is 5 1/2" in diameter. This exceptional early piece of American lighting is being offered with NO RESERVE!! Please see my other auctions for more great early primitives and folk art (pictured).
Payment expected within 7 days of auction's end, item will be shipped UPS ground. Insurance is included in the price listed for shipping. International bidders, please contact me for a shipping quote. |
