This is a neat tin put out by the Dayton Biscuit Co. of Dayton, Ohio. But did it hold Laurel or Saurel Butter Crackers? I really think it is supposed to be Laurel but somebody got carried away and made a really fancy L that looks like an S. Anything I have seen about Dayton Biscuit Co. refers to their Laurel brand. Just below Dayton, Ohio it is kind of scratched but it looks like it says USA Can Co. This tin has a great deep red metallic finish with beautiful lettering. It would have held 23 oz. when full. It is in very nice condition but there are several shallow dents along with a some scratches and blemishes--basically just light wear. There is some rust on the inside of the tin--not too bad. The top of the lid does have some loss of the gold finish. The lid has kind of a "ruffled" effect that looks like it was made that way--the lid fits just fine. There are lots of pictures so please enlarge and check them out real good. The bail handle is still firmly attached--all the better to carry it with. Neat tin for your collection--also will hold stuff! Please let me know if you have any questions. Payment is due within three days after the auction ends and I ship the next business day after receiving payment. Thanks for checking this out. Added note 6/24--thanks to the eBayer who asked about the size of this tin. It is 7 /14" tall read more
