Heavy solid quartersawn tiger oak wood was used making this chair. It is from a great chair maker in the early 1900's mission era. Marble & Shattuck Chair company in Cleveland was a leader in the industry in the early 1900's. This chair is an example of why they were. Beautiful oak grain all over with a curved slat back with an arched rail and a contoured thick oak seat resting on aa oak swivel base. It has the old rocking mechanism and it can be adjusted for desired seat height. Nice large seating area. It is 23" wide by 20.5" in depth. Thick curved oak arm rests. This chair was made to last forever. Two of the old caster wheels have been replaced. You could put a new set of wheels on it, use as is or I may have 2 old wood wheels to match the pther two if tyou remind me that you want them.Perfect desk chair for an office or home with an old mission decor. It will be selling with an opening bid of $5 as do almost all of our auctions, with no reserve price set. Any bid can win!
