hi, here is a nice set of lead crystal champagne flutes. in my experience i would say they date mid 1800s. the reason for this is,they have all the characteristics of very early glass making. first they have been hand blown, you can tell this on the photo above were you can see the horizontal lines were they have been blown and then molded with a tool ,these are the tool marks as it is span. second, they have been put together with 3 pieces, the stem itself has been stuck together with 2 pieces. third, they have tiny bubbles in the glass, this only happened on early glass.the pontil mark been ground out they started to do this at the end of the 1700s. forth is the colour, very old glass has a grey completion, this was the lead what was added. the flutes are in very good condition,no cracks or chips.the gold guiding on the top of the flutes, some has worn off on each glass.this comes with age. each one is just a bit different from the other ,you only can tell if you realy study them.this means you know they have been hand made.you can never get one exactly the same. If you have any questions please feel free to ask. thankyou...:-)
