19th Century Sherlock Holmes Style Pipe Comes in own Double Hinge Leather Case Beautiful old classic pipe. 7 inches long from end of bowl to stem end (straight line). The sterling band is marked: XRA over marks of an anchor - lion - five-point star over STERLING. The wood is probably briar. The bowl rim, is ?. Also unsure of the stem. Bit is used but no teeth marks. No cracks. The leather case is closable with a spring tab. Paper foil label "Manhattan". Blue velvet interior. When closed noticed the gap (see photo).
