This rare antique cast iron leather or fabric cutter cuts a perfect zig-zag (or pinked) edge. The fabric shown in the pictures is Ultrasuede, but I have tried cutting leather, cotton and wool on this, all with good results. The spring underneath easily adjusts the tension for whatever thickness of material you want to cut. It's perfect for cutting strips of material for quilting, rug weaving, rug hooking, leather strips, or just pinking an edge. I believe that this is from the mid to last part of the 19th century. The only marking on it says: Handy No. 2. All the parts move and adjust freely. The finish is exactly like the very old Singer sewing machines - black and shiny. It has some minor surface scratches, wear and finish dings, but nothing not in keeping with its age. In fact it looks a lot better in real than in the pictures, as the pictures tend to highlight the light surface rust on the adjustment screw. But it is just that, light and on the surface. Steel wool would probably remove it easily. Because of its odd shape, it's difficult to give measurements, but it's about 8" tall with its adjustment screw open and 11" wide from deck to end of the handle. I see that I somehow missed getting the handle in the pictures, but the black wooden handle is in excellent condition. It weighs near 6 lbs, so shipping will be a flat $12.88 parcel post. Insurance is optional. This is a unique and completely usable, low-tech leather working or sewing antique to add to your collection and I'm listing it with No Reserve and a low starting price.
