Antique Leather Firefighters Helmet Firefighter w/ Horn- The finial brass firefighter blowing the horn is marked CHS D.P. Walters NY Pat. Feb 27,1872. The leather helmet looks to be by another maker out of Philadelpia. Image of the impressed make is shown with the paper remains of a tag inside. Condition: The final is in good condition except for the separation of the seam as seen in the detail. The leather healmet is rough dry and missing some sections as shown in the details. This helmet is very old and was used and the condition reflects that. Measures: 14.5"l x 10"w x 9.5"h This helmet is one of a collection from a Washington, DC area firefighter. Over the next few weeks I'll be selling off his collection. Feel free to ask lots of questions I know very little about this type of material. Hearthside Antiques in Poolesville, Maryland.
