Great Men and Famous Women Eight Volume Set 1894 Selmar Hess Illustrations This is a set of 8 volumes entitled Great Men And Famous Women. This is a first edition set printed in 1894. Books appear to have just been shelf sitters. Leather is a little dry but has a very nice appearance. The books inside pages are exceptionally clean with no age darkening, foxing or repairs. Bindings are tight. Great Men and Famous Women This eight volume set of books are in very good condition. Volumes 1 and 2 Soldiers and Sailors, Volumes 3 and 4 Statesman and Sages, Volumes 5 and 6 Workmen and Heroes, Volumes 7 and 8 Artist and Authors. The set of books has wonderful Illustrations Photogravures, Wood-engravings and Typogravures according to the text. The books are old and covers are worn and coming off on some of the volumes. There is some yellowing or foxing on the pages (I do not know the correct term). See photos to help evaluate condition.
