This auction is for a beautiful Lenci ceramic figurine made by the very talented Lenci artist, Sandro Vacchetti. This ceramic is named "Scolara" meaning school girl. It can be found in the catalog "Le Ceramiche Lenci" by Alfonso Panzetta model #247 on page 153. This figurine depicts a child who has eaten part of a bar of chocolate and is trying to hide it behind her. This figurine is marked Lenci Made in Italy 24-2-31 with Vacchetti's initials below it on the bottom of the base. It is in fairly good condition for being 80+ years old. However, there are just a few small chips shown in the close up pics including a few at the bottom of the base that can be hardly noticed.Can easily be restored. Beautiful piece to add to your collection or to just place on a shelf where it can be admired. This is definitely a hard piece to find, so don't wait to bid, or someone else will score on this truly beautiful piece.

Please contact seller to discuss. **********Accepting out of country bids************ A little history on the Lenci company and the artist who made this beautiful piece.Elena’s ( original owner and creator of the Lenci company) husband Enrico, first became aware of the talented young Sandro Vacchetti’s in 1919 when he met him at an artist’s festival and offered him employment with the Lenci factory. A skilled modeller and decorator Sandro was soon made Artistic Director in 1922, a position which continued to hold even when the factory incorporated the ceramics division into their production. Today Sandro Vacchetti’s work is highly prized by collectors, especially those pieces created for the ‘Essevi’ factory which he founded in 1934 after leaving Lenci.
