Are you in a Holiday Shopping Tizzy? We double box all china items, and upon request, we will gift wrap the inner box in which this set is shipped, so all you will need to do is slap a bow and name tag on it. An antique, Victorian era dresser or vanity set, hand painted in a delicate, feminine pattern with a lustre glaze on the bottom areas of each piece, and much gold trim. Real treasures from the past when our lifestyles were much different from today's. Each of these fine porcelain pieces has a gold-dotted band with a delicate hand painted floral pattern. The top of the bottle, the inner circle of the powder box, and the area around the hole in the hair receiver lid are all pure white. The stopper of the bottle and the rims and feet of the powder box and hair receiver have a wide gold trim. Beneath the hand painted bands, each piece has a lustre glaze. We estimate these to be circa 1900, more on the estimated age below. The perfume or scent bottle (decanter) is about 6 1/4" high. It is marked as pictured, with "Vignaud Limoges" mark. We could not find this exact mark in any of our books. T is no damage to this piece. T is a replacement cork on the stopper and the cork has been ground down to fit the bottle. The hair receiver stands on 3 gold feet, it is 3 1/2" high with the lid, and about 4 3/4" across. T is no damage to the bottom nor the lid. The bottom (bowl) is marked with "MZ Austria Classic" mark. This is the Moritz Zdekauer mark, circa 1900. The powder box stands on 3 gold feet, it is about 3 3/8" high with the lid, and about 4 1/2" across. This piece is also marked with the "MZ Austria Classic" mark (as above). T is no damage to the base. T is an area on the bottom edge of the lid that appears to have been ground down to remove a chip. This may have been done at the factory, or may have been done by the painter because it is painted over the edge of it. This does show up under our black light. We doubt you would have noticed this if we had not brought it to your attention - we looked at it several times before noticing it. Note: All our china items are genuine antiques. It is not unusual for antique porcelain to have ash specks (from wood-fired kilns), and these specks are not considered damage. Though it may need further cleaning, we do lightly clean our porcelain before listing to enable us to find any damage. Unless otherwise stated, the items we sell are old and most will show, in varying degrees, signs of their age. If you are new to collecting Limoges and other antique porcelain, we suggest you become familiar with the genuine articles by web sites and books that are available through most libraries. The fakes are everyw, and sometimes selling for more than the real items. We do not want you to be a victim of this deception.
