Fabulous Hand Painted Limoges Porcelain
Jean Pouyat circa early 1900's 7 Pieces No Reserve You are viewing a gorgeous, old dresser set in Limoges Porcelain (except for the Lipstick). It is so rare to find a set this old with so many pieces in such good shape. None of the pieces are chipped, cracked or crazed. All the pieces are painted in pink wild roses (I think) with green leaves and bordered heavily in gold. 1. The tray measures approximately 12 inches from side to side and is 6 inches across. It has a scalloped textured border and shows some wear on the gold. It is marked on the bottom in green with J.P. (Jean Pouyat) underscored over L. with FRANCE arched below. It also has the initials MCS handwritten on the bottom. 2. The powder bowl has two lids so you can use it for powder or as a hair receiver. It is marked the same as the tray except no initials. It is pretty as either! 3. The hatpin holder is almost 5 inches tall and has 7 small holes and 1 large hole in the top. It is marked in green with P.L. underscored over Limoges France. This mark stands for Porcelaine Limousine which has a little later date. It also has the initals MCS . 4. The Lipstick holder is 4 inches long. It has a Germany mark on the bottom but also the initials MCS. All of the pieces are in very good condition with no chips, cracks or crazing. It is amazing considering the age. T is some minor wear on the gold trim. This set would be a wonderful addition to your fine porcelain collection. Thanks for looking, happy bidding and good luck!
