Unfortunately this is quite a heavy item, too heavy to ship overseas ** STUNNING ANTIQUE / VINTAGE WOODEN STAND for a TYPEWRITER (to prevent it slipping or marking the desk) Termed a 'TYPIST'S COMPANION' manufactured by the LION COMPANY LTD, LONDON (see the 'label' at the front of the item) Dates from the early part of the twentieth century - 1930s at the very latest, I believe WOODEN - with drawer at the front Recesses at either side filled with (? woollen) felted fabric (to stop the typewriter slipping) Made from quite a thin wood DIMENSIONS: approx. 12.5" (32.5cm) x 15" (38cm) x 1.5" (4cm) ** A lovely period piece - AND A VERY RARE ITEM. I have failed to find another one like it on the internet ** IN GOOD CONDITION OVERALL - there are a few marks/streaks to the wood - also quite a bit of insect damage to the felt strips (please refer to the photos) - there is also a small split to the front of the drawer which it has proved difficult to capture in a photograph. The inside of the drawer has a musty 'old wood' odour which should improve with an airing ** I have estimated the shipping costs. Although I make every effort to take accurate photographs, please be aware before bidding that, due to the limitations of digital photography and variations between computer browsers, it is impossible to reproduce colours totally accurately on computer screens . If I feel that the original colours diverge greatly from those shown I will allude to this in the description. Postage and Packing: Please refer to the listing description for details as to the method of delivery and charges. Items valued at more than £39 are usually sent via Special Delivery (or, if sent overseas, via the ‘International Signed For’ service) and will require a signature on receipt. I am happy to combine postage costs on multiple purchases (providing the auctions finish within 5 days of each other and providing it is safe and practicable to send the items within the same package).
