Wonderful oyster plate made by the famousLongchamp manufacture*, circa 1890. Shaped with 6 shell compartments (ivory coloured) and 1 central, on a green basket weave background, surrounded by brown rope motif. Green reverse with stilt marks. The colors are really beautiful. IT IS IN EXCELLENT CONDITION WITH NO CHIPS, CRACKS OR REPAIRS. (Marks of wear on the ballot of central compartment & shell compartment) see photo N3. Identified with an impressed « Longchamp Terre de fer » mark and the number of the model « 1006 » and the maker initial « G » on the back, as you can see on the picture. *Longchamp is located in Burgundy region in France, not far from Dijon. At the end of the 19th Century, Robert Charbonnier decided to revamp an existing pottery with great success. Longchamp specialized in majolica planters and vases with applied flowers in high relief and plates and platters with applied fruits in high relief.
