Antique Mahogany Chippendale Secretary SlantLid Desk NR THIS IS A NO RESERVE AUCTION !!!! You are bidding on an Antique Designer Chippendale Mahogany Secretary Slant Lid Desk. This piece is a RARE find due to its size and was VERY WELL made and is approx 80 years old. It has 4 beautifully curved drawers which are all doweled and dovetailed together with brass Chippendale pull handles. Each drawer has brass milled mortise lock with locking mechanisms so they can individually locked (no key) It sits on beautifully curved Queen Anne cabriole legs with nicely carved ball and claw feet. The top lid and the top drawer has a brass mortise lock with nicely decorative backplate (no key) and comes down with 2 velvet lined sliders that come out automatically on each side to give the desk its support. The inside has a small door in the center with slide out slots (one is missing and needs to be replaced) that have nicely carved finials and 5 small drawers with plenty of pigeon holes. This piece is very utilitarian as well as beautiful and can be used anyw throughout the house and makes a beautiful accent piece. It has an exotic swirl flame mahogany wood grain and is all VERY WELL made and all wood construction but Please understand that this is an antique which is ALL ORIGINAL and has some minor imperfections on it and it has an aged patina on it but overall its in great shape. This piece measures approx 36 inches wide, 42 inches high and approx 19 inches deep. This is a NO RESERVE auction and since I am assuming all the risk by starting the bidding at 1 dollar you will have to pay for shipping.
